Sheldon and Four Animal Outfits
Republished by the designer
*The Sheldon pattern, knit in Knit Picks Shine Sport, was originally published on Knitty in Winter 2006 and is still available as a free pattern from Knitty:**

In 2008, I created a new version of the Sheldon pattern for Knit Picks Shine Worsted, called “Super Sheldon,” as well as four animal outfits for Sheldon to wear. The four animal outfit patterns can be knit in Shine Worsted or Shine Sport to fit your Sheldon. These patterns were available from Knit Picks through 2011.
This pattern includes the original Super Sheldon directions, as well as all four the animal outfit patterns in their original format. I have substituted the most recent Knit Picks Shine color names for the ones used in the 2008 pattern.
Yarn requirements depend on weight and how many costumes are made. The full kit in worsted weight takes 2 balls Macaw, 1 Green Apple, 2 Coffee, 1 Dandelion, 1 Cream, 3 Black, and 2 Sweet Potato. The full kit in sport weight takes 2 balls Macaw, 1 Peapod, 2 Coffee, 1 Dandelion, 1 Cream, 3 Black, and 2 Sweet Potato.**

You first saw Sheldon on Knitty.com and now, with the help of designer Ruth Homrighaus, he has joined us at Knit Picks to discover a world of dress-up. Sheldon the turtle loves to change his shell and play make believe which makes him the perfect companion for any child.
The kit (no longer be available) contained enough yarn to make the original Sheldon with shell along with 4 other whimsical animal outfits. Dress Sheldon as a lion, sheep, bumblebee or a bat. Kit contains one 50 gram ball each of Shine Sport in Green Apple, Grass, Cream and Butter and two 50 gram balls of Fedora.
