Sherlock in Training: Baby's First Deerstalker
A tiny deerstalker for your detective-to-be! The body of the hat is worked back and forth (though instructions are given for in-the-round) from a provisional cast-on. Then the cast-on is unraveled a section at a time to work each brim and earflap individually. The best thing about hats for babies: they’re done in one afternoon!
This pattern takes approximately a third to a half skein of Berroco Remix, and just a few yards in a contrasting color for optional duplicate stitch embellishment. Remix is a soft, washable non-wool option, but keep in mind that there’s very little stretch to it. The pattern as written creates a 14” hat but stitch counts can be easily adjusted.
