Simple Comfort
”…I have given suck, and know
How tender ‘tis to love the babe that milks me….”
- Macbeth, Act 1, Scene 7, Line 54
Why a simple shawl? Sometimes, you know someone who needs a hug—her mom just died, she’s been diagnosed with cancer and has a round of chemo coming up, her husband died suddenly—and you need to give it to her yesterday.
Simple Comfort is soft hug you can knit fairly quickly and inexpensively and wrap around your friend’s shoulders without delay. With its slightly curved shape, it will stay right there, reminding her of someone she loved or keeping her warm through a cold chemo session…and silently telling her how much you care.
