Simple Garter Ties for Kilt Hose

Discontinued.
This digital pattern is no longer available online.
Traditionally when men wore Kilt Hose they didn’t use modern elastic ‘flashes.’ They use knitted or woven garter ties.
Aside from adding a little traditional flair to your outfit, these garter ties stretch naturally with your calves and as such are farrrr more comfortable. On top of that, you aren’t left with the dreaded elastic imprint on your leg when you take them off at the end of the evening.
So here’s a really simple pattern I put together for making traditional garter ties.
You can use whatever yarn and needle sizes you want.
I tend to use a sport or worsted weight yarn and then needles appropriate to that yarn.
