Slouchy Beanie with Knitting Effect
We are in the middle of winter now, and you know, the winner of this season is always knitwear. Scarves, gloves, hats and sweaters, so warm soft, voluminous and enveloping. This is the thing that I prefer most of this season.
As much I love all kinds of knitting, my greatest love is always crochet. For this reason, I decided to make this hat imitating knitting works but making everything with crochet! To obtain knitting effect you should not work in round (as you normally do for crochet hats) but you have to work in rows without increases or decreases but varying the type of stitches. Once you have a rectangle, you need to close it like a cylinder and then sew the back of the hat to obtain a puckering seam.
For this work I used:
- Le Fibre Nobili Val Gardena Amount: 100 grams (3.52 ounces) Color: Grey
Brand: Lane Cervinia
Weight: Worsted / 10 ply (9 wpi)
Yardage: 87 yards (80 meters)
Hook size: US 8 - 9 or 5 - 5.5mm Fibers: 60% Wool - 40% Acrylic
Gauge: 11 stitches and 10 rows worked in half double crochet = 9 cm x 9cm square
