Oh Iceland, how you inspire me.

These mittens were created as a welcome bag gift item for our Icelandic wedding. They were a complete hit with our guests. They are named after the region where we held our wedding.

This pattern uses key elements found in traditional Icelandic knitting. Since these mittens are a simple project, it makes them a great introduction to stranded knitting with unspun wool.

Icelandic Plötulopi is recommended to make these authentic (and warm!) but any wool matching the suggested gauge will work. Knit these with two colors, or pick four colors for more variety.
