Soul Mates Hat: Beanie with Tree Cable Stitch
✨ The Story Behind This Piece:
This beanie was inspired by Tree cable stitch in the baby tree of life throw. I wanted to continue with the stitch pattern and my first beanie design was transformed. This piece is part of the Tree series which is gradually manifesting.
Quick Highlights:
Beanie hat that’s light weight and cozy for the early spring and fall season. This piece is constructed bottom up on double pointed (dpns) or 16 -24” circular needles . Knitter can use US5 needles if US4 needles is tight.
The tree pattern is a multiple of 48 sts, with increases and decreases of 8 sts worked in the pattern. The Tree cable is located in the front of the hat, while the back is worked in st st. The odd rounds follow the chart or written instructions, while the even rounds are knit the knits and purl the purls.
Difficulty: advanced beginner
Techniques: twisted ribbing, purl, knit, cables, knit n round, crown decrease, stockinet st, reading chart, written instructions, k1tbl, bind off.
Construction: Worked bottom up in twisted ribbon, Tree cable is located in the front of the hat, while the back is worked in st st.
Yarn Weight: DK weight or similar weight yarn to achieve gauge.
Size: One size available, but keep an eye out for pattern update for second size.
