Splice was envisioned while pondering what to do with two single 50g skeins of fingering weight yarn. I wanted to knit a snuggly close fitting cowl to keep me warm but not so heavy that It would weigh me down or get in my way.

Perfect for those lonely skeins of beautiful yarn that just isn‘t enough for a full sized shawl. Cowls are knit separately, then the cabled piece ends are grafted to interweave and unite the two cowls hence the name splice.

Any weight yarn can be used since the size is up to the knitter, the pattern is highly adjustable to suit whatever amount you have. For fingering weight yarn a minimum of 200 yards is recommended for each cowl. Have more yarn? Make a bigger cowl! Add more braids or length as you see fit.

Great as a stash buster for those single skeins of yarn that are just not enough for something else.
