Alternative yarns would be any double knitting weight yarn such as King Cole Anti-tickle Merino, Rowan Pure Wool. I see from feedback that people have advised against trying to upsize using worsted weight - admittedly I didn’t test knit this although I guess it does depend on gauge. DK yarns are very widely available so that is the recommendation for this pattern.

You may need to mix and match the colours as some of the colours of Colour 4 Me are being discontinued.
