The ridges and stitch movement were placed to mimic the action in Starry Night. The top section has a unique stitch which makes stitch clusters that appear as star shapes.
You will need: 1 Hank of worsted weight which gives you 100g/200yds to work with.

This hat is knit bottom-up always viewing the right side, using bands of various patterns separated by eyelet ridges. This hat has a garter stitch hem. The hat is 8 inches from top to bottom and 18.5 inches around the bottom hem. There is some stretch so it will fit snug to the head.

This hat can be knit as a very snug beanie specifically to be used as a chemo hat. If this is your task, please be sure to use a US6/4.0mm circular needles. The stitch count should remain as written.

This hat is modular and you could make the beanie version or repeat a band/section to make it more like a slouchy hat. There are three bands with various textures.

Both written and charted instructions for the stitch pattern featured in each band for this design are provided in this document.
