Strandwanderer ist ein asymmetrisches Dreiecks-Tuch in kraus rechts, das den kalten Herbst- und Winterstürmen zu trotzen vermag und warm einhüllt. Schlicht in der Form, entwickelt es seinen individuellen Charakter durch ein kontrastreiches handgefärbtes Multicolor-Garn. Aufgrund seiner Geradlinigkeit ist das Tuch absolut männertauglich. Die Größe kann leicht an die persönlichen Vorlieben angepasst werden. Das Besondere am Strandwanderer ist, dass sich das Muster durch Richtungswechsel beim Stricken entfaltet – da es nahtlos in einem Stück gearbeitet wird, gibt es am Ende kein lästiges Fädenvernähen!
Inspiriert ist mein Tuch von der Farbe und Form des Seegrases: Während es im Sommer im Meer grün und glänzend sanft von den Wellen gewiegt wird und beim Schwimmen die Beine umschmeichelt, leuchtet es im Herbst und Winter in den unterschiedlichsten Lila- und Olivtönen, wenn es frisch an unseren Küsten angespült wurde.

Bitte vor dem Anstricken beachten: Damit das Muster besonders lebendig wirkt, ist es wichtig, dass die Farbrapporte nicht zu kurz sind. Die Farblängen pro Farbe im von mir verwendeten Garn betragen ca. 20 - 35 cm.

Verwendete Techniken: rechte Maschen, Maschen zusammenstricken, wickeln & wenden (in der Anleitung erklärt), Maschen aufnehmen und abstricken, 2 Maschen aus einer Masche herausstricken (kfb).

Strandwanderer (German for: a person who walks along the beach) is a bias-shaped shawl in garter stitch, that wraps up well and braves the storm on cold autumn and winter days. Plain in shape, the shawl develops its individual character with the help of a high-contrast handpainted mulitcoloured yarn. Because of its rectilinearity Strandwanderer is eminently suitable for men. The size of the shawl can be easily adjusted to your preferences. The special thing about the shawl is, that the pattern develops by changing the knitting direction - worked seemlessly in one piece, there are no troublesome threads to weave in at the end!
The shawl is inspired by the colour and shape of the seaweed: While it is gently rocked by the waves in the summertime and softly touches the legs during swimming, it shines in different shades of purple and olive in autumn and winter, when it has been washed up recently on the shore.

Please read this before you start knitting: For maximum effect make sure that the colour repeats of your yarn are not too short. The colour repeats of the Wollmeise yarn I used are 20 cm - 35 cm long (per colour).

Required techniques: knit stitches, knit into front and back, knit 2 stitches together, wrap & turn (explained in the pattern), pick up and knit stitches.

Measures of my finished shawl (I used 154 g): 10” (26 cm) x 70” (178 cm)
