The heart shape is achieved my increasing and decreasing the stitches. Always ch1 when starting the row, it equals the sides of the heart. The increases made in every first stitch in the beginning of each row after you chain 1. Turn work after completing each row. Make 2 identical halves, then sew/stitch them together and stuff with polyester.
