• Carry your second colors along with you, working over them while you’re “within” the heart shape. But do NOT carry them through the white parts except in rows 12 and 13

• Remember to pull the yarn you are working over tight as you go, to prevent it from showing through

• To cleanly change colors, you’ll read about picking up a new color on your last “motion.” (HDC motions: yo, insert hook into st, yo, pull up a loop, yo & pull through three loops) The bolded portion is where/when you pick up the new color and pull it through the 3 loops of the other color

• Each row will have 21 sts but I have mentioned the number of colored sts (not counting white) at the end of each row
