The Amarah Shawl
This pattern is exclusive to customers of The Knitting Corner.
This shawl was especially designed alongside The Knitting Corner to celebrate Yarn Shop Day 2019, a day set aside by Lets Knit magazine to sing praise to the fabulous knowledge and assistance we can all get from our local yarn shops that you just cannot get from an online retailer.
The name comes from both Amy – The owner of the knitting corner, and Sarah – That’s me! as without the two of us working so closely together this shawl would never have come into existence.
Worked flat with slip stitch details, simple lace, and a cute leaf motif, this pattern is suitable for both adventurous newbies and experienced knitters alike.
Suggested yarns
Rowan Softyak - 2 balls (approx 250mtrs) of each colour.
or for a shawl that blocks to a slightly larger size (due to the stretch of the yarn) use
Rowan Cotton Cashmere - 2 balls (approx 250mtrs) of each colour.
Gauge 16 stitches and 28 rows per 10cm square. Getting an exact gauge is not critical for this pattern but if your gauge does not match you could need more yardage.
