The Envelope Afghan
This pattern is
available for free.
This pattern is believed to be in the public domain. Donated to the 2000 Knitlist Gifts by Elizabeth Lafferty. The name came about because this pattern, with no name, was passed on to me on the back of an envelope.
The afghan is worked in strips.
A typical adult afghan would be 5 strips wide
Materials:
Worsted Weight yarn.
Amount will vary depending on afghan size, but for a normal (40” wide x 54” long) afghan it uses around 6 skeins 3.5 ounce.
Size 8 or 9 straight needles.
Size 10 will give you a wider strip, and size 13 a lovely lacy effect.
