Here in Pure Michigan, the best weekends are those spent Up North. Crystal blue lakes, golden sand dunes and forests that you want to get lost in! Autumn in the north is magical with all of the vibrant colors and winter brings a whole new glittering beauty. It is the perfect venue for wrapping up in all of your favorite handknits and getting a healthy dose of nature!
These cozy mittens have a beautiful Northern pointing colorwork band right where you need that extra warmth- across the fingers! These mittens are a great stash buster as well, using under 200 yards of worsted weight yarn! The long cuff will ensure that your wrists stay toasty warm as well. So knit ‘em up, pull ‘em on and head Up North!!

The finished mitten measures 10.5 in/27 cm in length with a hand circumference of 7 in/18cm. The cuff takes up 3.25 in/ 8.5 cm of the length.

I prefer to work these using the magic loop method, but DPNs will work just as well!

There is a link included in the pattern that shows two-handed knitting for the colorwork and a great technique for catching your floats for those who are interested!
