The Lambent Light of Morning 10" and 12" Block
The first in a series of four blocks exploring shaping and visual texture in a flat, fairly solid block. This block was inspired by the light of morning glinting on the ever-moving ocean waves.
Although it looks complex, testing suggests that it should be quite doable for an advanced beginner (someone familiar with basic stitches and working in the round), though directions should be read closely. Special stitches are extended dc (edc) and treble decrease (tr dec), both defined in the pattern.
My excellent and helpful testers for this block were nitaknits, rebby, kathybarnett, cromad, and funnydiebarbarin. Thank you all so much!
9/1/13 update to v2.0 - a 9-10” stopping point has been added.
8/6/14 update to v2.1 - correction to instructions for treble decrease
