The second in a series of four blocks exploring shaping and visual texture in a flat, fairly solid block. This block was inspired by the stark light and lines of the hills and mountains of New Mexico.

Although it looks complex, testing suggests that it should be quite doable for an advanced beginner (someone familiar with basic stitches and working in the round), though directions should be read closely. Special stitches include half treble crochet (htr) and single crochet decrease (sc dec); all are defined in the pattern.
