Knitting
yarn held together
English
Discontinued. This digital pattern is no longer available online.

These purses (or totes, depending on size) are knitted
sideways with novelty yarns and a ribbed stitch pattern.
The basic construction is a shaped rectangle with two
semi-circular yokes. Both yokes may be worked the same
or one may be worked as an oval to create a flap. Two sizes
are offered and further changes may be made by increasing
or decreasing the needle size (see notes on samples at the
end of the pattern).
The same yarns may be used throughout or yarns may be
swapped in and out as desired. Using between two and
four yarns held together gives the best results. To switch
out yarns simply overlap the new and old yarns for about
12” and knit them together. Yardages given are totals for
the whole rectangle. If yarns are swapped out then less of
each yarn may be required.
