This cardigan has a classic, timeless silhouette with two different cable stitch patterns. The stitch patterns are written in text and are charted. The sleeve is a classic set in version. The ribbed edges are integrated with the cable patterns. All sections are worked bottom up. The pattern includes full set up rows written by size to aid the knitter to establish cable stitch patterns. It makes the pattern appear long but you’ll be skipping over sections that apply to sizes other than your own.The front band is picked up in one piece, along the front edge, around the back of the neck and down the other front, with a long circular needle. I chose the Briggs and Little yarn because I’ve knit many cable projects in the past using it. It has great stitch definition and stands up to hard wear. Some of my oldest sweaters knit with Briggs and Little look the same as they did when they were first knit.
