The Sky Touches Your Shoulder / Taeva puudutus õlgadel
This is my adaption of the “Original Crown Prince” which can be found in the book “Haapsalu Shawl” (Siiri Reimann, Aime Edasi).
This is a large stitch motif similar to the “Original Crown Prince” in the “Haapsalu Shawl” (Siiri Reimann, Aime Edasi) book. It is a pattern with a detailed chart (10 pages).
There is neither a description on how to do the sewn-on edge nor a stitch pattern of the sewn-on edge I used included!
The shawl consists of 1442 nupps, 453 rows and 127 stitches. With a sewn-on border the shawl will result in the following size: ca. 170cm x 70cm (70 inches x 28 inches).
Recommeded yarn:
Yardages ranging ranging from 820 yards to 1531 yards per 100g. For a yarn with a yardage of 1531 yards 100g is enough, for a yarn with a yardage of 820 yards/100g I guess that 200g would be enough.

This pattern is a part of blog-project (newlace.blogspot.com).
This blog is place for re-invention of knitted Estonian lace. We create and show new lace patterns which are inspired by traditions of our beloved Haapsalu shawls.
Aim of the project:
To enrich and popularize Estonian lace patterns by creating
- single motif patterns of known motifs,
- adaptations of known motifs for triangular shawls,
- variations of known motifs,
- new patterns for shawls.
