This perfect rainy-day sweater is worked from the top down and has raglan-style sleeves. A bulky wool and a criss-crossing stitch create a densely cozy cardigan. If you’re looking for a sweater that buttons up the front, this isn’t it: designed with more narrow-than-usual front
panels, this cardigan is meant to be worn open and wide, creating a longer, more slender outline. Big pockets compliment the length, and a wide bottom hem and button band complete the look by adding some contrast to the thicket of stitches.

YARN:
Cascade Eco Plus (250 g / 478 yds) in desired colour (here, 9654 Campfire Heather), 3/3/3/3/4/4/4/4/4/4 skeins. (if substituting with another bulky yarn, you’ll need approximately 1140/1220/1330/1430/1520/1600/1670/1730/1800/1860 yds.

NEEDLES:
6.5 mm (24” in length) circular needles (or size required to obtain gauge.) + 6 mm (36” in length) circular needles (or one size smaller than larger needle size).

GAUGE:
Check your gauge by making a pocket. The pocket should measure
approximately 6” wide by 7” tall (including ribbing at top of pocket). Gauge of repeating stitch pattern should measure 20 sts x 16 rows = 4”.

MEASUREMENTS/SIZING:
Bust: 34/36/38/40/42/44/46/48/50/52” with 2” positive ease (Note: cardigan is not meant to fully close/button at front.) Choose size that is 2” larger than actual bust measurement.

OTHER MATERIALS REQUIRED
4 stitch markers and stitch holder (or scrap yarn to hold stitches).
