Thrummed Booties
Every year at our local fiber festival, I admire the rich colorways of the hand-dyed wool roving on offer, and I couldn’t resist incorporating some into these booties. I knit the booties flat using a sturdy yarn, working the thrums as I went. I love the way the bright roving contrasts with the rustic gray yarn on the outside; while inside, the roving forms a soft, squishy, very warm lining. Over time the thrums will felt together on the inner sole, creating an even footbed.
