Time-Out Shawl
There are more knitted patterns of the shawl than the crochet ones available which prompted me to create a simple & easy-to-follow crochet version with an “obvious” texture.
This is a handwritten pattern and based on the one worn by Duchess of Cambridge during her trip to Waitrose for shopping.
Skill:
Fairly easy (advanced / adventurous beginner)
Finished measurements:
Approx 33”/ 83.8cm height by 63”/160cm
length (includes edging)
Stitches used:
FSC = Front loop Single Crochet
BSC = Back loop Single Crochet
DC = Double Crochet
Sl = Slip stitch
Materials:
- 3 skeins of TLC Essentials Solid or similar
- Size J 6.0mm crochet hook or size to obtain gauge.
- 1 or more stitch markers

Late September
Finally, I got the pattern worked out and this is my very first and it’s on ravelry! YAY!
I’m a total newbie at pattern writing even though I have worked with many crochet patterns written by designers from American, European and Asian countries.
Early September
I’m doing a new piece with a different yarn - mixed merino wool and nylon for a softer feel; and writing out the pattern at the same time. Hopes to publish it here by end of the September 2011.
Stay on and keep a look-out :)
