I wanted a sturdy market bag that was machine-washable, durable and a little nicer than the simple mesh bags I’ve seen. I’ve used the “lace” pattern in a scarf and thought that it would suit a bag very well because it gives lots of support but is expandable.

Use it for shopping, the beach, storing yarn or projects…;-)

The bag is started at the bottom, using a provisional cast-on with 2 dp needles -- this is really easy once you’ve done it once or twice and there are a few good video demos on YouTube!
