“A rhapsody in music is a one-movement work that is episodic yet integrated, free-flowing in structure, featuring a range of highly contrasted moods, colour and tonality.” (According to Wikipedia)

Not everybody is a composer of music, but with this pattern, you can become your own composer of colour! Triangulum Rhapsody combines three patterned triangles into one interesting shawl shape that you can drape in many ways around your neck and shoulders.

See the pictured sample as one of many possibilities to combine loads of different yarns in this project. From a clear colours scheme to an array of scrap yarns - the possibilities are endless.

As most of the shawl is knit in garter stitch, this project is a relaxing knit. The thicker DK weight yarn lets it grow quickly and you will soon see your progress.

Sample shown in:
The Wool Kitchen DK, colours:
“Frenchie” (A), “Heterochromia” (B) and “Tech Head” (C)

The shawl uses about 740 metres / 809 yards of DK weight yarn in total. This divides up into the following amounts for each colours:

Colour A: 240 metres / 262 yards
Colour B: 370 metres / 404 yards
Colour C: 130 m / 142 yards

Now grab your yarns and start composing!

If you want to use the same yarns that I used for the shawl, head over to The Wool Kitchen’s Etsy shop! Helen is offering three lovely kits for the shawl :)
