This soft, elegant Tunisian shawl is worked from the point up using only 2 stitches - Tunisian Simple and Tunisian Purl. A matched set of increases creates the triangle shape, with a change midway through the pattern producing a ‘batwing’ design that curves gently around the body, making the finished shawl stay comfortably on your shoulders.

The pattern contains written step-by-step instructions for the Tunisian stitches used, including cast-on and bind-off. Gauge is not overly important for this shawl. Tunisian is usually worked with a hook 2 or more sizes larger than you would normally use for the same weight yarn. For this shawl, your stitches should be loose but well-formed (recognizable as either a Simple or Purl stitch.)
