In response to requests I’ve designed a crocheted version of my “Unbelievably Simple Baby Hat”.

This hat is perfect as a first pattern. Being done completely in single crochet all they need to know is how to chain and single crochet.

This pattern is NOT written in standard abreviations; it is written paragraph style for simplicity for the novice crocheter.

I’ve not included gauge information as small variances will still work and this pattern is designed to get them making something, not frustrate them with the technical side of things. I have included the finished size though so that huge differences can be caught early.

Working with suggested hook to specified size used less than a 50 gm ball of worsted weight acrylic.
