@ approx 246 (225 m) per 100 g

~ Sample used 375 yards (340 m) 1.5 balls Berocco Fiora in Marietta

US 5 (3.75 mm) Needles

Cable Needle ~ you will need one, the cables are very tight

Gauge not critical but will affect size and yarn requirements.

For needle selection:
19 sts x 34 r = 4” (10 cm) square
Firmly Blocked Stockinette

88 r in pattern (1 rep) = 11.25” (28.5 cm)

Additional Chattiness

~ A wonderfully helpful tip for a cable needle replacement can be seen in Shanel’s Project. She bent an aluminum DPN - the crossings tend to get very tight and the singlet wants to slip off even a jogged CN.

~ Because I have seen it mentioned in a few project notes, I will address the first project-yarn-row of the prov CO being knit and equaling a WS row.

This is ok, it WILL NOT make a row of purl bumps on the RS of your work! As long as there is only ONE row made in project yarn before starting the RS chart, you can k them, p them, rib them, or any combo thereof and once you remove the scrap yarn they will simply be loops on the needle. They only ‘become’ sts when the removed row of scrap yarn is replaced with your grafting sts - I promise…

Don’t believe me? I’m not offended. And honestly? Good for you! - Always seek confirmation of iffy sounding claims. I didn’t believe it the first time I came across it either so I fully encourage you to try it out for yourself with just a few sts CO and removed.
