This pattern is written for any gauge, however, to achieve the look shown, lighter weights (fingering to DK) are recommended. Wool works best for this design.

Vertical Impressions is a timeless and flattering cardigan. The crisp vertical lines of the button band and the deep neckline lengthen the body and create an hourglass shape. The 2-button closure under the bust highlights the narrow part of the torso.

The simple and graphic stitch pattern used for the button band is not ribbing – no purling involved. The cuffs and bottom hem are knit in twisted ribbing. The button band is knit separately and seamed to the body. The pattern includes directions and pictures for an invisible join.
