Veterans Lap Blanket
This blanket was inspired by a veteran I was supporting in Iraq. This is a smaller version of the blanket I made him.
The pattern could easily be made wider or longer by adding stitches or more stripes.
I did not use a guage and since it’s been 6 years since I first made the pattern I think it was 2-3 skeins of red and white, 2 skeins of blue and the stars were made with cotton. I identified the Iowa star (where I am from) and knit that with a thread of gold in it. This is optional. Leave the tails on your stars long enough to attach them to the blue field.
