I think you can knit this with any needles and any yarn, and as it contains a little ribbing it will stretch a bit. Just measure it as you go along, and increase and decrease as necessary.

I only used a little bit of each skein of yarn, so it’s hard to estimate yardage - but this project does not need a lot of yarn.

My finished tea cosy measured:

Height: 12 cm, circumference: 40 cm, width: 15 cm
