Waves of Happiness is an easy to knit, crescent shaped shawl. The lace border is knit first. Stitches are then picked up along the edge of the border and the body is knit, using short rows, from the bottom up. Perfect for that special skein of sock yarn that you’ve been saving.

Laylock’s wonderful Crescent Shawl Shaping Worksheet, included in the pattern Shore Shawl, was used for the short row section of this pattern. Thank’s, Derya, for making the math easy!

It is very important that the BO is loose enough to allow the BO edge to spread. You may need to go up a needle size or two on the BO to get enough stretch. I’ve also included instructions for a more stretchy BO in the pattern. Happy Knitting!
