Wedding Mice
This pattern is for the wedding arch, the bride, groom and vicar mice and their outfits, the smaller bridesmaid and page boy mice and their outfits, as well as the bride’s flower, the wedding cake, and the just married sign and ribbons for the car! Please note that the pattern for the car itself is sold separately.
The pattern contains lots of photos to help you every step of the way. It is written in English, using American crochet terms. All of my patterns have been independently tested prior to publication.
You will need:
Yarn of your choice. Yarn weight doesn’t really matter - the size of your project will simply turn out bigger or smaller! I used Patons Smoothie DK yarn for the majority of my project (this is quite a thick DK yarn so it is equivalent to aran or light worsted weight in other brands) and my finished mouse measures approximately 11cm tall. Please ensure that you use the same weight yarn to make your mice, their clothing & the accessories to ensure that they will fit.
For the mouse you will need the following colours:
• Main mouse colour - I used pale grey (approx. 23.5m per adult mouse & 12m per child mouse).
• Nose / ears / feet / tail- I used pale pink (approx. 13m per adult mouse & 7.5m per child mouse).
For the wedding arch you will need the following colours:
• Base colour - I used dark green (approx. 35.5m).
• Arch colour - I used pale green (approx. 70.5m).
• Flowers colour - I used dark pink (approx. 5m).
• Highlight colour - I used pale yellow (approx. 4.5m).
• Ribbon colour - I used pale pink (approx. 5.5m).
For the clothing you will need the following colours:
• Wedding dress colour - I used white (approx. 43.5m).
• Bridesmaid dress & accent colour - I used dark pink (approx. 11.5m).
• Grooms jacket colour - I used black (approx. 24m).
• Groom’s & Page Boy’s trousers - I used dark grey (approx. 15m).
For the bride’s flower, wedding cake and car accessories you will need the following colours:
• Flower colour - I used dark pink (approx. 2.5m).
• Flower stem colour - I used dark green (approx. 2m).
• Car Sign & Ribbons colour - I used white (approx. 22.5m).
• Tin can colour - I used dark grey (approx. 8m).
Please note = The amount of yarn used will vary according to yarn weight, hook size and stitch tension so these measurements are only a rough guide. The pattern refers to the colours that I used, however these can be substituted for colours of your choice.
You will also need:
• A suitable size hook for the yarn you have chosen - I used a 4mm hook.
• A pair of 6mm black safety eyes for each adult mouse that you make.
• Some toy stuffing.
• Some finer yarn or thread for adding the facial details & wording to the just married sign. I used black and a small amount of red.
• 4 small buttons for the trousers, vicar’s cassock and groom’s jacket & a needle and thread with which to attach them.
• A small piece of white tulle for the bride’s veil. I used a piece that was 15cm wide and 30cm long.
• A small amount of ‘7 count’ plastic canvas. I had a 26cm x 33cm sheet (that’s 10.25 x 13.5 inches) & I used less than half a sheet. A higher count (that’s the number of holes per inch) will mean the plastic is more bendy so stick to 7 count if possible.
• Other tools you will need are a tapestry needle, some scissors and some stitch markers.
You are welcome to sell the items that you make using this pattern, but please do not sell / share the pattern itself.
Thank you.
