This very simple hat pattern is knitted in the round. I used the magic loop method on an 80cm cable, but you could use a 40cm circular and then change to double points for the crown.

There is plenty of yarn left over to make a large pom pom should you desire.

It would work well in Rowan Big Wool too, needing just one ball.
