Winter ☆Night
by Kat
Discontinued.
This digital pattern is no longer available online.
In the middle ages, when electricity was still unknown, the stars were loved as symbols of life and energy.
Stars were often knitted into pillows and nightgowns, as protecting symbols against the darkness of the night and the unknown.
For the same reason, stars were also knitted into clothing used in wintertime -
as winter was considered the night of the year.
It reminds me of winter in the Norwegian woods, with the silhouette of the snow covered mountains, and the stars
above the frozen pine trees…
♥ The dolls beanie is just a test sample.
