update 10/05: japanese translation added
yana is worked seamlessly from the top down. Knitting starts
from a cast-on at the shoulders. Short rows are used to shape the shoulders, then each part is joined to work the back down to the underarm. Stitches are then picked up at the shoulders to work each front. The work is then joined at the underarm and worked in the round to the split hem with set in pockets. Sleeve stitches are picked up around each armhole and sleeves are worked from the top down in the round to the cuffs with 1x1 Rib panels. The cowl neck is worked last.

20 sts x 30 rows = 4” (10 cm) square in Stockinette stitch on larger
needle after blocking.
