"You Jump, I Jump" Beaded Lace Scarf
When Logan Huntzberger first waltzes into Rory’s life, she’s unimpressed, pegging him as a spoiled, privileged, frat boy type. But he becomes more of a presence when she begins working at the Yale Daily News and finds he is also on staff. As he is the heir to his father Mitchum’s newspaper empire, Rory’s first impression of Logan has some truth to it, but she begins to empathize with him when she realizes his future has been laid out before him without any other option. Contrary to his upbringing and parents’ influence, Logan embraces his wilder side, pulling stunts with the Life and Death Brigade, going on poorly planned adventures with his friends Colin and Finn, and throwing crazy parties. He encourages Rory to explore her less sheltered side, allowing her access to Yale’s secret society and participating in one of their biggest stunts yet: leaping off a seven-story-high scaffold with a harness and umbrella while wearing a ball gown and scarf around her neck. Embracing the thrill, Rory tells Logan, “You jump, I jump, Jack.” The drama, fear, and adventure she experiences is a foreshadowing of their impending relationship.
Grab your parasol and get ready to jump! Worked in the traditional Shetland lace style, this beaded lace scarf is worked in two identical pieces, then grafted together at the center to allow the lace to mirror image itself. Begun with garter edges, the scarf showcases lace hearts that move up the body. Beads are added as you go with a small crochet hook. Every other row is purled across, and length can be added or taken away in full repeats. Choose a color to match your favorite ball gown.
