This scarf is a long, squishy, textured hug. It was the inspiration of my friend, Yuh-Chi and is named for her. She saw a scarf that she really liked and, not being a knitter, begged a knitter (that’s me) to make one for her.

This was my take on that pattern. I wanted it to have some garter bands, stockinette bands, and lace. I wanted it to be long and gracious, but also a little feminine.

This pattern is meant for adventurous novice knitters to experienced knitters and all those in-between.

Please read the entire pattern before beginning.

Yarn: 2 Skeins Knitted Wit Featherweight Rambouillet, 100% Rambouillet, 250 yards, color Moody Blues, 500 yards total

Needle: US 4 (3.5 mm) Hiya Hiya Steel Interchangeable needles or needles to obtain gauge

Gauge: 6 stitches per inch (spi) and 7 rows per inch (rpi) OR 24 stitches & 28 rows to 4 inches/10 cm in stockinette (unblocked)
5.7 stitches per inch (spi) and 7 rows per inch (rpi) OR 22.8 stitches & 28 rows to 4 inches/10 cm in stockinette (blocked)

Size: 45 inches around by 9.5 inches wide (unblocked); 54 inches around by 9.5 inches wide (blocked)

To alter the size: Adjust your gauge to increase or decrease the circumference of the scarf as needed. Alter the width as desired.

For skeins with less yardage (aka 400 yds of sock weight): skip sections 13-15 and go straight to section 16. If you have yarn remaining, continue to repeat section 16 until you bind off.
