No gauge, yarn weight, or hook size is given. On the first page of the booklet, it is suggested to choose the thread and hook size according to usage desired:

“This edging repeats itself to show that the size of the thread determines its width and fineness. It’s only a matter of choosing the thread that determines whether an edging will be the type to use on hankies…on baby clothes…on lingerie, or the bold, dramatic edging that looks so stunning on household linens. So before you choose your thread, be sure to have its use in mind.”
