Now that the kiddos are all gone, I have moved my knitting/craft room into the largest of our two spare bedrooms.

12/5/15 - New flooring! Goodbye ugly stained carpet!

12/7/15 - 12/11/15 - Moved everything into the new room, filled yarn cabinet, hung pictures, spool holders, shelf, idea board, and needle holders, and moved items into closet.

Still in need of a sewing table, which hubby will make after Christmas. I also would like to change out the lamp kit on the fan from a 3-lamp to a 4-lamp and put new brighter bulbs, as the room is a little dark.

But, over all, I love my new bigger room! :)

~PICTURES~

Picture 1 & 2: Yarn cabinet - an old 1970’s china cabinet that my husband refurbished. He sanded the ugly brown finish and gave it a fresh coat of white paint. He then sprayed the brass iron with black and installed new back hardware. Twinkle lights on yarn cabinet were purchased at Christmas time from Target. They are LED lights on a fine wire. The baskets on top of the yarn cabinet are from JoAnn’s (several years ago) and I’ve sewed drawstring bags to go in each one and hold projects.

Picture 3: My knitted banner, hung above the window. Curtains are from Ikea. My husband re-stained the cabinet blue, for my vintage White sewing machine. The red chair was purchased at Home Goods. The ottoman came from a resale shop for $10. I crocheted a slipcover for it.

Picture 4: The tall cabinet with drawers came from Hobby Lobby, when they had their furnishings on for 50% off. The little sheep on the vintage sewing machine were rescued from my mom. They originally had burlap ears and tails, but some were missing. I knitted ears and tails for all of them.

Picture 5: Dottie likes the new room, but now she “taps” as she walks and since she is old, she sometimes slips. Poor girl! :(

Picture 6: The white, metal containers on the wall are from Ikea. They are really pots for plants. I tied ribbon around each one and labeled them with the needle sizes. The antique baby stroller was rescued out of my Mom & Dad’s attic, when they moved a few years back. They had purchased it in Canton, TX when I was a child. I thought it would be cute filled with all my cotton yarn. The vintage knitted gloves on the wall were purchased at an estate sale. They look hand knitted but are slightly felted. I hung them on the wall and keep my sewing scissors in them.

Picture 7: In the process of putting things away and getting everything moved back in. (12/7/15)

Picture 8: New flooring, being installed (12/5/15).
