Notes

This is a blanket that I designed and sold to Cascade Yarns. I was blessed to receive generous yarn support for this piece, so I can’t claim credit for the beautiful color choice. The yarn is amazing to work with, and has wonderful stitch definition. The quilted appearance is achieved with a funky cable that I worked up. It’s very possible that this cable exists somewhere (not much is brand new anymore), but I figured it out the hard way, lol. Most of the piece is worked in 2 x 2 ribbing, and the cables are done over the course of a few consecutive rows, so it’s not so bad if you’re not a huge fan of cables. Regarding the cables, I know that many people work cables without a cable needle (and I’m a fan of that technique as well) but for this project I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s just too uncomfortable to do that with yarn this chunky.

Update: The pattern is now available through Cascade Yarns. I hope you love it as much as I do!

P.S. the second to last photo shows the back side of the blanket. It’s just as pretty as the front!
