I cast on 80 on 3 needles.
2/2 ribbing
Start pattern of 3/1 however on needle 2: K3,P1,K3,P2,K5,P2 - carry on as in pattern.
When it comes time to do the cable, I hold 3 in front, K2 and then K3 from the cable needle.
So far, so good. I love this pattern for variegated yarn.

Just turned the heel and decided to purl the picked up stitches instead of knit. It looks a lot cleaner and it’s easier to control. I tried to picture the purl in the 3rd and 4th picture.
