Such a pretty yarn must be knit straight away!
Grindavik is the location where the Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa is located in Iceland. (Might need a scarf like this after the spa!)
(I need something to ease the pain in my hands from knitting up the aran pretty in pink sweater. It’s a gorgeous yarn and knits up nicely but just the size of the needles with the yarn is really hard on my hands!)
I wanted to use just a 2 stitch I-cord but as you can see in my swatch photo, it doesn’t show well so I went with a 3 stitch I-cord edge.
4mm needles seems large for a 4ply but after a wash or 2 gives me a nice light drapey fabric that I really like :-)
Keeping it interesting with different stitches and I-cord edging, again! K1B makes the vertical stitch pop and the 3 stitch I-cord edge really looks nice, even before washing.

I have washed the scarf and measured, trying to figure out if I have enough yarn to complete this as planned. Maybe not! It measures 18” long and 13” across and has used up a 1/3rd. A 4.5’ scarf isn’t going to work…. Come on Sue! Put on your magic hat and find me 50 grams more, k? Pretty please! (I’ll put this on hold till I find out one way or another!)
Yahoo! She found me another cone! :-)
(Which, as it turns out, I really didn’t need but I did end up sending 1/2 the cone to Varia so I feel better about asking and receiving more!)
This pattern would make a great baby blanket or lapghan! Heavier yarn and more stitches….
I was approached to sell this scarf and have decided it needs a more loving home than I can offer it! I love the scarf and the colour but it’s a tad itchy and woolie smelling for me. SO… JJKnitss, she’s all yours!
