I knit this for our CM Japanese kal/cal. It’s so wonderful to be supported by so many wonderful people with such fabulous yarns:-))
Mito is a city in Japan.
I received my Japanese knitting Dictionary yesterday and it is beautiful! So….
The time has come to use some of my coveted Turquesa yarn and I have decided to make a Japanese lace vest. I might just add sleeves too but well see?
This lace seems complicated but it’s not. In fact it’s very intuitive and the cart wasn’t/isn’t really needed after the first repeat.

Well this is coming along very quickly:-)
Both fronts are done to the armpits and I am 1/2 way done the back to the same point! HONESTLY haven’t had to look at the chart since I did the first repeat on the first front! Gotta love a lace pattern like that!

The body is 2 repeats from completion!
After I joined everything together I increased the seed stitch design, in 4 spots..2 on each side under the arms…, to give me some shaping to the lower 1/2. I think after it’s been washed it will give it a nice drape? (As I get older my hips seem to be bigger than the upper 1/2 :-)

This is almost complete. I am working on the button band and am about 1/2 way done. All those twisted stitches are slowing me down tons! I am also going to do an I-cord BO around the sleeves.

It’s complete and gone for it’s hot soak. (I’d be so lucky! :-)
