My hands measure 8 in circumference and I think this is about the largest hands you could get in the mittens. If there had been a bigger size I would have knitted that, but these are ok.

As written sts 16 - 18 on rows 13 - 18 of the chart are not a mirror image of sts 25 - 27. I like symmetrical things so I altered sts 16 - 18 so that they were a mirror image of sts 25 - 27. Also I made st 56 on row 16 a knit rather than a purl because I prefered the way it looked to have the palm of stocking stitch grow out of a knit stitch rather than a purl.
