I just chained until I thought it was long enough, then I dc three chains from the hook and throughout. I would chain three at the end, turn and continue. There is no pattern, I just winged it as I sat at the park - the kids playing.

Remember, what weight of yarn you use will make a difference of how many you chain since lighter weight yarn will require MORE chains than heavier weight yarn.
