The main idea came from here: http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/en/visoppskrift.php?d_nr=1... although it was still too difficult for me I made some modifications and I resigned from long arms, I knited short arms instead. I used only 3,5 mm straight and circular needles.

I knitted all using just
stocking stitch: 1st row: all 1k (til end of row)

(turn the knitting and then)

           2nd row: all 1p (til end of row)

(all rows repeat according to this)

and simple rib stitch (P2, K2)
