Named after the protagonist of Jo Walton’s fantastic novel Among Others. Improvising.

Twin rib. Top-down with short-row set-in sleeves (construction a la Agatha).

This yarn acts differently than pure wool, so I blocked the knit after joining the back and the fronts to check armscye depth. It was still too stretchy to tell so I decided to set the body aside and start on the sleeves. The fit seems all right but the neckline falls lower than I had anticipated. I haven’t thought the neckline through so we’ll see how the knit progresses.

The fit is all right. I did waist decreases on the back and more increases than decreases below the waist line, on both the back and the fronts, to accommodate the pockets. Unblocked and on the hanger, the cardi is not much to look at but it looks OK on the body. I think blocking will help A LOT.

I’m thinking of adding a detachable hood but I don’t know if that’s not a bit over the top… Yeah, NO HOOD.

Dec 12 - blocking now…

Some unfortunate pooling, but I think I can live with it. I did alternate two skeins for most of the body but that really didn’t help.
