I like this sweater very much. The pattern can be a challenge at times, esp. difficult for me to understand was the Taper Raglan after you divide for the sleeves. It took a bit of concentration and re-reading, but once the light bulb goes on, it is easy to do this part. Very clever design elements that were fun to knit.
I made more waist decreases and did not pick up as many sleeves stitches as pattern required. I did not do the tubular bind off, could not get the hang of it, and just bound off loosely instead.
The neck does not photograph all that well, and I think it is a prettier sweater in person. If you are on the fence about making this sweater, I would do it. I love it!
A fellow Raveler needed help with the waist shaping section:
Here is what I did:
The first round 1-7 is simply knit the knits and purl the purls, except round 3 where she has you do an HC.
On row 8, you substitute a DVD for the HC. These decreases prepare your HC to become a BC (morphing).
Rounds 11-16 are when you Morph the HCs to the BCs: on round 11 she has you do a BC where you formally had done an HC, the vertical decreases (DVD) done on round 8 have made it possible for you to do this BC. On round 15 you have no more HCs, just all BCs now on.
Work 1-16 (16 rounds completed)
Work 9-16 twice (32 rounds completed in total)
Work 9-16, but this time, on round 9, use the Dec. Rnd. instead.
You now have 40 rounds completed in what she calls the Waist Shaping.
At this time she wants you to try on the sweater to see the fit. I felt it was too baggy so I ripped out the 40 rounds and used the Dec. Rnd. on every BC round.
